AUTUMNWATCH
BBC2, 8pm British wildlife has been ‘Big Brothered’ this week as hidden cameras let us in on secret behaviour.
Chris Packham, Michaela Strachan and Martin Hughes-Games are at the National Trust’s Sherborne Park Estate in Gloucestershire, exploring how creatures are coping with the onset of autumn.
And it seems they have been coping better than we have. Humans have been mainly arguing about when to put the heating on, or panicking about those unwelcome visitors, Hurricane Ophelia and Storm Brian.
Back in the Cotswolds, however, we’ve been entertained with worm-charming, bat social calls and, of course, what’s autumn without a few rutting deer?
In this final episode, the hosts drop in on the live cameras around the estate, bidding farewell to the stars of the series – otters, owls, badgers and beavers. Plus there’s a final update from Gillian Burke, who has been testing the intelligence of those cunning urban foxes.
