TOWN MOVE AN EASY CEL FOR BERSANT

- BY JON WEST

BERSANT CELINA reckons starring for Ipswich is a lot more fun than turning out for Manchester City.

The on-loan Kosova playmaker (above), borrowed for the season from the Premier League leaders, scored Town’s third to cap a comprehensive win.

Celina has not always seen eye to eye with Ipswich boss Mick McCarthy, who watched Martyn Waghorn and David McGoldrick (above, left) net either side of halftime. McCarthy insists his job is to teach Celina about hard work and discipline, rather than indulge his skills. But this was the third game in a row featuring a goal from the 21-year-old, who has been allowed just 13 minutes of Premier League action at City so far.

He said: “I really love it here at Ipswich. These are the best guys I have ever played with – they are amazing.

“They are all really good friends and it’s such a good team to play in. It is unusual and that’s why I say it is the best team I have been in.

“Of course, I have been frustrated because I love playing. The manager is trusting me a lot more now and I really appreciate that and just want to do well.

“It helps when I score every week – it makes everyone happy. I’m happy now and want to stay as long as I can.” Six defenders sidelined by injury did not help Preston, as they limped to a fourth defeat on the spin.

Skipper Paul Huntington said: “I’ve never seen anything like it but, whoever plays, these results are not good enough.”
