OUTPUT IS TOO WEAK

-

# According to the CBI, productivity is too low. I am not surprised as many companies employ labour only on a temporary basis which causes problems with output. This is the case in the car industry as sometimes little training is given. Go back 30 years and no one in car-making was allowed on the shop floor until they were fully competent.

Firms need to look at themselves and stop blaming workers.

Also, buying cheap from the Far East is a false economy as these goods are often inferior.

# I totally agree with Terry Wright of Derby about Chris Evans on Radio 2 (Madeuthink, Nov 6). The only time I listen to The Breakfast Show is when Sara Cox stands in for him.

# Has Spain taken the first steps on the downward icy slope to civil war and anarchy after the jailing of Catalonian leaders? There is no easy way back from the current impasse without outside intervention. The UN should step in and offer to mediate, and do it now.

# At long last the evil Ian Brady has gone, his ashes thrown into the Irish Sea. May he not rest in peace. This was dealt with in the best way. My thoughts are with the families of his victims.
