Matt can’t take heat in X Factor kitchen
THE X Factor mansion is turning into heartbreak hotel for two of this year’s contestants.
Grace Davies has been left devastated after Matt Linnen dumped her, having hooked up in the kitchen of their temporary home.
Grace, 19, and Matt, 28, got together at the sprawling property in London’s Enfield, with the entire household gossiping about their fling.
But plasterer Matt, who hails from Southend in Essex, went cold on Grace and called time on their brief romance.
A source said: “Grace and Matt had a bit of a thing together, but he ended it and she is devastated. They hooked up in the kitchen on one occasion, and it looked to everyone else as if they were developing feelings for one another, but Matt cooled things off.
“There’s a bit of an atmosphere in the house, now. And it doesn’t help that Matt is always flirting with his mentor, Nicole Scherzinger.”
Grace insists she is not concerned by the break-up, saying at the ITV gala: “Everyone seems to be speculating on it. I’m just concentrating on getting on with my singing.”
Grace, from Lancashire, has already achieved internet fame, with a cover of Adele’s Hello receiving 52 million streams. She also has almost 13,000 subscribers to her Soundcloud music page.
Tonight will see the contestants perform George Michael songs in tribute to the late star. Matt will have a go at Careless Whisper while Grace, aptly, sings I Can’t Make You Love Me.
