Ex-Prem star Sinclair held on assault and drink-drive charges
Police quiz over home incident
FORMER footballer Trevor Sinclair has been arrested on suspicion of assault, criminal damage and drink-driving after a “disturbance” at his home.
The ex-England winger was quizzed by police yesterday.
It is understood officers were called to the home he shares with wife Natalie at an exclusive development in Lytham, Lancs.
Sinclair, who also played for Man City and West Ham, is said to have already left in his car but was later held after a crash in which a female pedestrian was injured.
It is understood the woman did not need hospital treatment.
Moments before he was arrested on Sunday, BBC football pundit Sinclair, 44 had tweeted racist claims about officers. He wrote: “Racist old bill all over the Sinclair residence again tonight. Thank god as a black man I’ve not fallen asleep again.” Lancashire Police said: “We were contacted at 8.45pm on Sunday, November 12 to a report of a disturbance at a house in Lytham. Officers attended the property and found a man had already left the property in his car. “Officers found the vehicle which had been involved in a collision with a woman pedestrian. She received minor injuries. “The driver, a 44-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of drinkdriving, common assault and criminal damage.” Sinclair was taken to a Blackpool police station for questioning.
