SLUTSKY: I’M LIKE A MAN IN A COMA

- BY DAVID McDONNELL BY ARINDAM REJ

JARROD BOWEN said Hull’s players are to blame after an implosion that devastated boss Leonid Slutsky.

The winger gave Hull a 2-0 lead then ran to hug Slutsky, who is fighting to save his job.

But the shaky Tigers ultimately let their boss down, conceding three in the final 22 minutes – and Slutsky admitted he felt like a “man in a coma” afterwards.

Bowen said: “We all know we’re to blame. We’re on the pitch. We’ve got to take responsibility.

“I wanted to dedicate my goal to him for everything he’s done for me, on and off the pitch. I’m sure everyone in the outside world can see he is a great bloke.”

Bowen’s cross led to Fraizer Campbell bundling in Hull’s opener, then he struck himself.

Hull’s fragility at set-pieces was exposed, with Bristol scoring twice from free-kicks, as Aden Flint and Bobby Reid pounced.

The killer blow came when Josh Brownhill (above) smashed in from 30 yards.

Captain Michael Dawson – who has had a disappointing season – was left out of the squad, reportedly due to illness.

Asked if he wanted to carry on as boss, Slutsky said: “I don’t know. You ask me this question after maybe the most frustrating match of my life.

“It’s like a man laying in a coma and you ask me, ‘What are your plans about your future?’ My plans are to get out of my painful feeling as quickly as possible.”
