- Clarke 71 Boga 38 BY LINDSAY SUTTON

SHEFFIELD UNITED BIRMINGHAM CITY IT is pretty special to score against Barcelona – but Jeremie Boga was just as excited about his goal for Birmingham City.

The youngster on loan from Chelsea hammered home from 25 yards (above) to open his account for Blues and stun high-flying Sheffield United.

The Blades eventually levelled through Leon Clarke’s ninth goal in four games, but the visitors held on for only their second away point of the season.

Boga had spells in France with Rennes and Spain with Granada – scoring against Barca in a La Liga clash – but values the experience gained in the Championship.

The 20-year-old Ivory Coast midfielder said: “I grew up in England with Chelsea’s youth side and know English football well.

“I needed more fitness and I’ve worked hard to improve to get into the team. Now I’ve scored my first goal for Birmingham I want to keep it going.”

City could have gone on to win had Lukas Jutkiewicz not wasted a golden opportunity, though United completely dominated the first half.

It was left to Clarke, who has gone from journeyman to super hitman in one sensational season, to salvage a point. He drilled in his 13th of the campaign from range and teammate John Lundstram said: “It’s a massive, massive help to have someone like that.

“We’re going into every game feeling we can get a result.

“Leon works extremely hard on the training field. He’s getting what he deserves. He’s putting in the miles and runs his socks off every week.”
