Armed thug grabs charity tins at club

- BY HILARY DUNCANSON

AN armed robber made off with cash and five charity collection tins from a bowling club.

He struck between 12.30pm and 1pm on Saturday and threatened two people working there with what seemed to be a firearm. No one was hurt but the incident left those involved deeply upset.

The suspect is described as 5ft 8ins to 6ft and of thin to medium build.

He wore dark grey jogging trousers, a black or grey Adidas top and white trainers. He was carrying a JD Sports plastic bag.

Det Sgt Diane Barr, of Wishaw CID, is appealing for information about the raid at Law Bowling Club in Law, Lanarkshire.

She said: “To steal charity tins is pretty despicable.”
