WAGNER DOESN’T WANT HIT RECORD

- BY DAVID ANDERSON

DAVID WAGNER claims Huddersfield are ignoring the record books to focus purely on survival. Huddersfield begin 2018 on course to register their best season since 1954, when they finished third in the old First Division. But Wagner (left) claims he is looking no higher than 17th place as the Terriers bid to stay up. “That is so irrelevant for us,” said the Town boss. “It is all about trying to survive and continue this chapter we started with our first game in the Premier League. Nothing more.

“We are only at the starting point to achieve our target of staying in the Premier League. ”

Scott Malone claims the Town players are desperate to survive after working so hard to make it to the top.

The defender thought he had missed out on the Premier League when old club Fulham failed to go up.

“I’m grateful Huddersfield got me in summer,” he said. “Like the other lads, I don’t want my dream to end.”
