Cov faithful get proper joy at last
COVENTRY CITY supporters group, The Jimmy Hill Way, recently got in touch to tell me about a new T-shirt they had produced.
They had it made to mark the 10th anniversary of hedge-fund firm Sisu – and their boss Joy Seppala – taking over their club.
On the front was the logo “Ten Years of Joy” and on the back “Decade of Decline” with a list of 10 answers replying to the question “What Has Seppala Done For Coventry City?” – which included “administration, evicted and exiled, relegated twice, 12,000 lost fans...”.
I don’t usually buy into that magic of the FA Cup line, but when, on Saturday, those die-hard Coventry fans saw their League Two collection of youngsters and loanees knock out Premier League Stoke, I was chuffed the old Cup had brought some joy into their lives.
I hope the run continues, potential new owners take note and their painful, decade-long Joy-ride is over.
