Cranberrie­s singer Dolores dead at 46

Troubled star found in hotel

She split from husband Don Burton, former tour manager for Duran Duran, after 20 years together in 2014. They have three children, Taylor, 20, Molly, 16, and Dakota, 12. A statement from her representa­tive said her family “are devastated to hear the news and have requested privacy at this difficult time”. Duran Duran said they were “crushed to hear the news”, adding: “Our thoughts go out TALENT Star in 2016 to her family at this terrible time.” Irish rock band Kodaline said: “Absolutely shocked... The Cranberrie­s gave us our first big support.” Dave Davies of The Kinks shared a picture of himself with Dolores. He tweeted: “I was talking to her a couple weeks before Christmas she seemed happy and well – we even spoke about maybe writing some songs together. God bless her.”

CRANBERRIE­S singer Dolores O’Riordan has died suddenly at the age of 46.

A tweet from the band, guitarist Noel Hogan, bassist Mike Hogan and drummer Fergal Lawler said: “We are devastated on the passing of our friend Dolores. She was an extraordin­ary talent and we feel very privileged to have been part of her life... The world has lost a true artist today.”

Met Police said O’Riordan was found dead at the Hilton Park Lane hotel, in Central London. An officer said: “At this early stage, the death is being treated as unexplaine­d.”

The group shot to fame in the 1990s with hit Linger and have sold more than 40 million records. But in recent years her music has been overshadow­ed by her troubled personal life.
