SAMUELSEN: EASY RIDE? NORWAY DO I FANCY THAT..
MARTIN SAMUELSEN admits he chose to join Burton on loan because he WANTS a relegation battle.
The Norwegian international midfielder joined Albion from West Ham on Wednesday until the end of the season.
A versatile attacking player, Samuelsen takes crocked Will Miller’s place in Nigel Clough’s squad at Fulham today.
“It’s a perfect way to start,” insisted Samuelsen, 20, who has had previous loan spells at Peterborough (above) and Blackburn.
“But that’s why I came here, because I want it tough and I don’t want it to be easy.
“It is something I haven’t really experienced yet.
“And I think it will be graft and a really good learning curve for me.”
Fulham’s promotion chances could hinge on keeping their star men.
Tom Cairney has been touted for a £12million switch to West Brom while Ryan Sessegnon is one of the Championship’s most wanted players.
Midfielder Kevin McDonald believes Slavisa Jokanovic’s attacking armoury can leave their rivals running scared.
The Scot said: “We are going to be up in the top six – there’s no doubt about that now.
“Teams know we have some very good attacking players that can cause damage. I think they will be looking over their shoulders at us now that we have found some form.”
