1 in 4 now die in own home
ONE in four people now die at home after a bid to free up hospital beds.
Campaigners welcomed the record high numbers but said the dying should be ensured proper care if they are turfed off wards.
In 2016 23.5% died at home, up from 18.4% when records began in 2004.
Rick Wright of Marie Curie said: “Without the proper support people will suffer pain and distress.”
