Amazon look at Prem TV rights
INTERNET giants Amazon are considering entering the bidding war for Premier League TV rights.
They have been shown round the Premier League TV headquarters and held top level talks ahead of today’s deadline for the first round of bids.
The big change in this bundle of rights is that there are 20 games from two midweek fixture programmes and 20 games from a Bank Holiday and one midweek fixture programme – which could all be shown simultaneously.
The Premier League appear to have dressed up those packages to appeal to an internet broadcaster like Amazon, Facebook or Netflix and a new broadcaster could change the landscape of the rights and also how armchair viewers watch football.
Sky and BT are widely expected to keep most of their existing slots.
