I had to write with regards to the lady who is worried about hair loss because of chemo (Dear Coleen, February 5).

I had stage four Hodgkin’s lymphoma and had chemo twice a month for five-and-ahalf months, and I didn’t lose a strand of hair.

That may not be the norm, but it’s not a certainty she’ll lose her hair and, even if she does, better that than losing her life. I want her to know cancer is not an automatic death sentence. Be strong, get well and live your life.
