NHS advisers ‘are a waste’
MANAGEMENT consultants in the NHS may be making it less efficient, researchers have found.
The typical hospital trust spent £1.2million a year on them from 2010 to 2013, academics said.
Consultants were linked to a yearly loss of £10,600 at the average trust.
Andrew Sturdy, of Bristol University, said “many argue [it] could be better spent on medical services”.
