REAL RAISE KANE
Ex-chief Calderon makes mischief as he reveals Harry is Real’s No.1 target – not Lewandowski – as legend Raul says he’d love to see Spurs hero in Madrid
HARRY KANE is Real Madrid’s first choice this summer ahead of Robert Lewandowski.
That is the view of their former president Ramon Calderon with Madrid striking legend Raul backing him up.
Kane scored his 35th goal of the campaign on Sunday – already matching last season’s total – to beat Crystal Palace. Calderon (circle, top) said: “I think Real’s goal is more Kane, also because of his age.
“But if it does not work out with him, I think Real is trying to get Lewandowski.” Raul (circle, bottom) added: “Harry Kane is a typical striker. He scores in
every game. He has great qualities. I like him a lot.
“I don’t know if he wants a change or if he has the opportunity to change, but I think he is doing well. He is one of the best strikers in the world.”
Asked if he’d like to see Kane at Real, Raul said: “Why not? Of course, I imagine a lot of teams would like to bring him to their team.”
It comes as Andre Villas Boas warned Kane he must leave Tottenham in search of “trophies and notoriety”.
The former Spurs boss, sacked in 2013, said: “If he has a hunger for trophies and for notoriety he would have to leave Spurs.
“The trophy cabinet is still what is missing for this great club. That is in the end what footballers chase – glory, winning.”
Champions League holders Real have been tipped to move for Lewandowski. But the Bayern Munich striker turns 30 in August – the same age as Real’s Karim Benzema – and some believe the Spaniards are looking to rebuild with younger players.
Villas-Boas added: “It depends on Harry and his ambitions and how he sees his career going forward.”
