Rowett wants mate for Matej
DERBY boss Gary Rowett is crying out for his forwards to ease the goalscoring burden on Matej Vydra.
The 25-year-old Czech is the Championship’s joint-top hitman after notching 17 times.
But Rowett (above) arrives at QPR tonight demanding goals from an alternative source.
And that puts centreforwards Jerome Cameron and David Nugent under the spotlight along with wide men Tom Lawrence and Andreas Weimann.
Rowett said: “Matej has set such high standards, every time he doesn’t win you the game maybe you think he is not quite 100 per cent.
“But the reality is he can’t win every game for us. And that’s when someone else has to step up to the plate.”
