Jeremy Corbyn’s apology for anti-semitism in the Labour Party appeared fulsome and heartfelt yesterday. Whether that will have any impact on those of his supporters who fuel the darkness within the party, remains to be seen. But certainly Jeremy has made an emotional plea for forgiveness and commitment to change, saying: “I am sincerely sorry for the pain which has been caused, and pledge to redouble my efforts to bring this anxiety to an end.” Could he have spoken better? Maybe not. Spoken sooner? Definitely so.
