Weight-fear lad of 17 in train sui­cide

A TEENAGER stepped into the path of a train af­ter he suf­fered “body con­fi­dence is­sues”, an in­quest heard.

Kameron Lyons, 17, wrongly be­lieved he was over­weight and had been di­et­ing, de­spite as­sur­ances his size was nor­mal.

The as­pir­ing co­me­dian, of Wilm­slow, Cheshire, sent a text in Septem­ber to girl­friend Clodagh Ire­land say­ing: “If you get this, it is over for me. I am not worth any­one’s pain.

“You are so beau­ti­ful and you are go­ing to make some­one a lucky guy. Tell my fam­ily I’m sorry, I was never good enough.”

Mo­ments later, he was hit at 82mph by a train from Manch­ester Pic­cadilly to Cardiff through Hand­forth sta­tion, the Mac­cles­field in­quest was told. Ver­dict: Sui­cide.
