It’s different here.. United have more HISTORY and want TROPHIES

SANCHEZ GUNNERS POT SHOT AHEAD OF FINAL WENGER VISIT

ALEXIS SANCHEZ admits he is still adapting to life at Manchester United but feels he is close to being back to his best.

He had a tough start to his Old Trafford career following his switch from Arsenal in January and struggled to produce the form that made him one of Europe’s most sought-after players.

But he has impressed in recent weeks, turning in match-winning displays in the 3-2 win over champions Manchester City and Saturday’s 2-1 FA Cup semifinal defeat of Tottenham, in which he scored and then set up the deciding goal.

Although United can still end the season on a high by lifting the FA Cup for a record-equalling 13th time, Sanchez said he already has his sights set on helping push for multiple trophies next season.

“It’s very different here,” said Sanchez. “I think United is a club with more history and we want to win trophies next year.

“We need to keep progressing. United is a big club, to which I’m still adapting, and I’m looking forward to giving everything I’ve got next year and aiming to win everything there is to win.”

Reds boss Jose Mourinho has already said United not see the best of Sanchez until next term, when he will be fully integrated into the squad with a better understanding with his new team-mates and of his role within the team.

His goal in the semi-final win over Spurs was his eighth in as many games at Wembley and the 29-year-old Chile forward is relishing the FA Cup Final showdown with Chelsea there on May 19.

“The truth is I score every time I play at Wembley,” he said. “I’ve won several trophies there with Arsenal. With Chile, I also scored two goals and that means a lot to me. Wembley brings me good luck.

“We’re very happy to have reached the final. I think Saturday’s match was the most perfect one since I joined United, and that makes me very happy for what lies ahead.”

United have four Premier League games left to secure second spot behind City, starting with Sunday’s visit of Arsenal, which will be Arsene Wenger’s last trip to Old Trafford as Gunners boss.

Wenger has seldom left the stadium with much to show for his efforts. His 21 previous visits with Arsenal in the league have brought just three wins, all by the same 1-0 scoreline.
