At­mos­phere builds for Wind­sor party

STROLLING down the Long Walk as the sun beams down on Wind­sor Cas­tle, wed­ding fever has the town firmly in its grip.

The nar­row cob­bled streets of this 11th cen­tury town are full of colour, mounted pro­ces­sions, Union flags and hun­dreds of royal fans camped out on the pave­ment.

to­mor­row. And there’s plenty to put se­ri­ous royal fans in the party mood.

Gift shop Wind­sor Wine and Gifts, which looks out on to the cas­tle, has had to or­der in hun­dreds more of their £9.99 replica Meghan wed­ding rings be­cause so many peo­ple have wanted one of their own.

Shop as­sis­tant Evie Stevens says: “A man proposed to his girl­friend with one in the cas­tle the other day. She said ‘yes’.”

And in cof­fee shop Heidi, the cus­tom-made “Meghar­ryc­cino” is a big hit. Barista Loic Mar­ion, 18, says they or­dered in a spe­cial ma­chine to make the cof­fees, with Harry and Meghan faces printed in the foam.
