Fuel prices at a 4-year high as oil rockets
MILLIONS of drivers face even higher prices at the pumps as oil prices soar.
Petrol and diesel has risen 4p a litre in the past month to a four-year high.
Figures from the AA reveal drivers are paying an average of £ 2 more to fill up their tanks compared to last month.
Oil is at $80 a barrel and on course to hit $85 by July.
It is expected to top $100 by next year because of uncertainty in Iran and Saudi Arabia, according to UK analysts IHS Markit.
That could take unleaded to an all-time high of 142p a litre and diesel to 148p.
The AA’s Edmund King said: “Nearly two in five drivers are already cutting back on car use, non-fuel spending or both.”
