100 perish in Cuban plane crash horror
MORE than 100 people died when an airliner crashed and exploded in Havana, Cuba, yesterday.
The Cubana Airline Boeing 737 jet came down in a field shortly after taking off from Jose Marti international airport.
It was carrying 104 passengers and nine crew, according to local media.
Three people survived and are in a critical condition in hospital.
Cuba’s president Miguel Díaz-Canel confirmed “there [was]) a high number of victims”, but did not give a figure.
Huge plumes of smoke were seen coming from the downed aircraft as firefighters battled the flames.
The domestic flight to Holguin came down at 12.30pm local time.
