‘Hike tax £2k to fund NHS’

TAX would have to rise £2,000 a year per household to save the NHS, a report warns today.

Modernisation and care for an ageing population could not be funded by cuts in other areas, said the Health Foundation and Institute for Fiscal Studies.

Jeremy Corbyn cited a Mirror story on £9billion of NHS cash going on private health, calling it “jackpot time for the privateers”.
