PM: Wembley sale is private

THERESA May said the possible sale of Wembley Stadium is a “private matter” for the owners.

She was urged to speak out after US billionaire Shahid Khan put in a multi-million pound bid for the national stadium.

Labour’s Justin Madders asked if “there is enough money in the game for there to be no need to sell this iconic national asset”.

But the PM said it was a “decision for the owners. It is a private matter, not for the Government”.
