A COUPLE are celebrating after finding their car a week after forgetting where it was parked.

Hilda Farmer, 79, and Emmanuel Elliot, 80, are overjoyed even though the Ford Fiesta had three tickets on the windscreen when it was finally found in a pay and display car park.

Hilda had parked the car in Cheltenham, Glos, after taking Emmanuel to a hospital appointment.

She had to ask directions five times during the half-hour walk back to the hospital, and when it came to making the return trip, she was unable to find the £6,000 car.

She said: “I went to Cheltenham and it is like a foreign country.”

The car was found by a local man Martin Tyler, after their plight went viral. Hilda said: “I can sleep now.”

The council said they would look on the tickets “sympathetically”.
