EDWARDS WON’T QUIT WALES FOR RED ROSE

- BY ALEX SPINK

SHAUN EDWARDS remains “fully committed” to Wales, Rob Howley claimed yesterday.

Edwards has been backed by Matt Dawson to replace Paul Gustard as England defence coach and is understood to be keen on the role.

But Howley, Wales’ attack coach, said: “You only have to watch Shaun in training this morning to know he is fully committed in terms of his diligence, his coaching, and his ability to get the best out of the players.

“I’ve seen no change in that body language.”

Former Red Rose star Ugo Monye believes head coach Eddie Jones should give the job to Joe Worsley, who played under Edwards at Wasps.

Worsley, 40, won 78 England caps and has been Bordeaux defence coach for the past six years.

“I like Joe, I like how he’s gone about his business as a coach, completely under the radar,” Monye told BBC Radio 5 live.

“I would be having a look at him. Their season’s finished. I would be inviting him to South Africa and just see how it goes.”
