MANE MEETS FANS & SEEKS INSPIRATION AT THE MOSQUE

LIVERPOOL’S Sadio Mane was swamped at a Manchester mosque as excitement for the Champions League continues to build.

And it didn’t even matter he was praying in the city of the Reds’ fiercest rivals.

Mane, a devout Muslim, was seen mingling with fans outside the Manchester mosque, posing for pictures and shaking hands with those who recognised him (above).

The forward, 26, performs the du’a before the start of matches, prays five times a day, and never drinks alcohol.

Liverpool’s Melwood training ground even had a prayer room built specifically for the Senegal international, as the Reds helped him settle at the club following his transfer from Southampton in 2016.

That room is now also being used by fellow Muslim, Mo Salah.
