Inquiry plea after rape at music school
A JUDGE has called for an inquiry at a leading music college after guards failed to stop a student raping an unconscious woman.
Concert pianist Jacek Serafin, 30, spiked a 22-year-old woman’s drink then repeatedly raped her.
A security guard spotted him, but failed to step in.
Judge Anthony Cross slammed the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.
Polish-born Serafin fled the UK and was jailed for 14 years in his absence.
Judge Cross said at Manchester crown court: “There ought to be an inquiry into the staff supervising events.
“The defendant ... was disturbed by a guard and asked the guard not to report the matter to the police. Sadly he did not.”
