Mum IS the word as Alfie sneaks back
SHANE Richie managed to keep his return to EastEnders a secret even from his family and co-stars.
The actor, as Alfie Moon, made a flying visit to the BBC One soap on Thursday after two years away.
He revealed: “My mum rang me from Dublin and said ‘I can’t believe you didn’t tell me about Alfie’.
“I was snuck in on the back seat of a car, hood over my head, and was locked in a dressing room.”
The 54-year-old had appeared in EastEnders’ spin-off Redwater with Jessie Wallace, who played Kat and who has also been seen again in Albert Square.
But Richie said: “Jessie’s one of my best friends and I couldn’t even tell her.”
He also lied directly to other co-stars Steve McFadden and Jake Wood.
