JOHNSTON: WE CAN GIVE ’EM EL
ELARQAM is “in great order” as he takes on an Aidan O’Brien quartet in the Tattersalls Irish 2,000 Guineas at the Curragh today.
The Mark Johnstontrained colt — whose parents Frankel and Attraction were both Guineas winners — is Paddy Power’s 7-4 favourite after finishing fourth to Saxon Warrior in the 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket.
And the Middleham trainer (above) said: “The horse is in great order, the field looks ideal and we’ve got no ground preferences.”
O’Brien’s 1,000 Guineas third Happily is the 11-8 market leader for the Irish version at the Curragh tomorrow.
