Way to go, Mo
IT is easy to be cynical about professional footballer players.
Too often their behaviour off the pitch overshadows their performance on it.
Many flaunt their wealth and lavish lifestyles. They sometimes seem more interested in collecting speeding fines than trophies. Then there is Mo Salah. The Liverpool star is not just a great ambassador for his game and his Muslim faith – he’s a role model for all professional sportsmen.
His charitable foundation in his home country of Egypt gives monthly financial aid to more than 400 impoverished families.
And he’s building a religious school to teach moderate Islam in an attempt to steer young Muslims away from extremism.
Whoever lifts the Champions League title tonight, there’s already one winner: Mo Salah.
