Cash appeal for skint dad of acid victim
father Mark A FUND of van acid for Dongen attack the hard-up victim has topped £35,000. Cornelius van Dongen has been left penniless by caring for son Mark, 29, who ended his life in a Belgian clinic after his ex Berlinah Wallace threw sulphuric acid over him. She was jailed for a minimum of 12 years at Bristol Crown Court last week after being found guilty of throwing a corrosive substance with intent, but cleared of murder. Bart van Dongen, Mark’s brother, started a Just Giving page to help his father, from Belgium. Bart said: “He spent many months travelling back and forth to Bristol to care for his youngest son.”
