Crowds run from theme park blaze
VISITORS fled in terror as a massive fire ripped through Europe’s second busiest theme park, destroying rides and causing millions in damage.
Around 25,000 fun-seekers were in Europa-Park when the inferno broke out in a warehouse, engulfing the Pirates in Batavia boat ride and fjord rafting attraction in the Scandinavian-themed area in Rust, south-west Germany.
The blaze, with 50-foot high flames, began on Saturday evening and was finally put out yesterday. Seven firefighters were taken to hospital.
