A waste if we don’t wise up
PAY-as-you-throw rubbish collections and packaging that’s 50% recyclable would be a waste revolution, says an industry firm.
Better efficiencies could generate £9billion, reckons waste manager Suez.
Its poll found almost a quarter of people blame sandwich and fast-food containers for most litter.
Suez also wants to see a deposit-return scheme for plastic bottles.
It called for “a revolution where the notion of waste is consigned to the bin”.
