Pet insurers pay 1m claims
PET insurers paid out on over a million claims for the first time last year.
The record of 1,023,612 was up 10% on the year before, said the Association of British Insurers.
A total £775million was paid out – an average of £2million a day, which the ABI said is another record.
The typical payout hit a new peak of £757 – far higher than the annual premiums of £324 for dogs and £171 for cats.
An estimated 67% of dogs and 84% of cats are not insured, the ABI added.
