BEHIND THE SCREENS

TV actor Dan Ryan says drama and sitcom casting has changed for the worse, with actors left in limbo as producers don’t bother telling them when they don’t get the role.

Speaking on the Two Shot Podcast, Dan (from Sky One’s Mount Pleasant) revealed how auditions have been reduced to hopefuls filming themselves on their phones then sending the videos.

Dan said: “I call it Tinder casting and they just swipe left. You don’t even need to speak and you’re gone.

“I’m waiting to hear on four jobs. Some have started filming so I’ve got a feeling I haven’t got them!”
