Worries over pasta sauce
JULIET Fitzpatrick, 56, a mum of one from Rickmansworth, Herts, had a mastectomy and chemotherapy after being diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in 2016.
She recalled: “You get hooked up to the drugs and they put all this poison in your body.
“After the first treatment I felt completely wiped out, like the worst hangover ever, and it lasted about a week. After my second my hair started to fall out.
“I asked my husband to shave my head. I think that was worse for him than me.
“I got neuropathy. I was withdrawn and miserable and I didn’t want to see anyone.
“This study is great news. It’s really going to change the way people are treated.
“It will be fantastic if targeted therapies can become the go-to treatment because chemo is awful. It kills everything.” FEARS
