ANGRY GAT IS GUNNING FOR PREMIER
WARREN GATLAND slammed Premiership rugby bosses after calling up England-based Josh Adams and Tomas Francis for Wales’ two-Test tour of Argentina.
Both players – as well as Bath’s Luke Charteris – were dropped from Gatland’s summer tour party last month after Premiership Rugby Limited refused to release them for Saturday’s 22-20 win over South Africa in Washington.
PRL chief executive Mark McCafferty described the South Africa match as an “unnecessary burden”.
Gatland (above) was furious he was not allowed to select the players he wanted for the match in the US.
He said: “It’s a sad indictment on the politics of the game. Every other country is playing three games – England have four – and we finish our tour a week earlier than them.”
