Bid to repeal abortion law

A CROSS-party group of MPs wants the Government to repeal a Victorian law criminalising women who have abortions.

Labour’s Stella Creasy said the Offences against the Persons Act, 1861 “puts abortion in the same category as rape”.

She said ditching it would also remove a block to any abortion law reform in Northern Ireland.
