BRITAIN’S Geraint Thomas suffered a highspeed crash during the opening timetrial stage of the Criterium du Dauphine.

Thomas (below) crashed on a righthand bend on the 6.6km prologue in Valence.

But he recovered to finish just 21 seconds behind Team Sky teammate Michal Kwiatkowski, who crossed the line in 7mins 25 secs.
