Day-off side rule with boss Gareth

PROUD Gareth Southgate has rewarded his side for their 2-1 victory by ordering them to take a day off from training to spend with their loved-ones today.

They did not arrive at their Repino base until early yesterday morning after their two-hour flight from Volgograd was delayed when Jordan Henderson was given a random drugs test.

The players will have “free time” to spend with their wives and girlfriends, who are staying in hotels in St Petersburg, 19 miles from Repino.

Jamie Vardy’s wife Rebekah, 36, Harry Maguire’s partner Fern Hawkins, Ashley Young’s wife Nicky and Eric Dier’s girlfriend Maria Hansen, 23, are among those now in Russia.

Sadly for Harry Kane, fiancee Katie is unlikely to go as she is heavily pregnant with their second child.
