Lulu shouts the odds over Brazil
IT’S said that everyone in Brazil has the right to voice their opinion on the national team – even if you’re a disgraced former president serving time in jail.
Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva – known as Lulu – has done less than two months of a 12-year stretch for corruption and money laundering.
Lulu (above) wasn’t happy with the 1-1 draw with Switzerland – and warned about the dangers of their opponents on Friday, Costa Rica.
His verdict, sent by letter to TV station TVT, was: “I am disappointed. We are only the fivetimes world champions and therefore a favourite. Without belittling Costa Rica, everyone knows that one day little David overcame the giant Goliath.”
