IT’S THREE AND EASY FOR FRANKIE
DID you miss me? Frankie Dettori came back to light up Royal Ascot with an 87-1 treble — spearheaded by Without Parole’s triumph in the St James’s Palace Stakes.
Twelve months ago, Ascot was missing its favourite son — sidelined by a broken shoulder.
“What a difference a year makes!” laughed the Italian, who will miss next month’s Coral-Eclipse after copping a seven-day whip ban, after the John Gosden-trained Without Parole (right) defended his unbeaten record.
Dettori’s trio — Calyx won the Coventry Stakes before Monarchs Glen captured the Wolferton Handicap — took him past Willie Carson as the third-most successful jockey in Royal Ascot history.
