THE GREAT GET TOGETHER
This weekend’s Great Get Together celebrates murdered MP Jo Cox’s belief that we all have “more in common than that which divides us”.
The millions who took part last year said it made a real difference, meeting new people and making them more hopeful about Britain.
Pat in Purley:
We are a cul-de-sac of 19 houses who didn’t all know each other before The Great Get Together.
People from 14 of the houses came and brought their own food and drink and the three organising houses provided the barbecues.
We now know the names of people in our road and everyone said we should make it an annual event.
