GOSDEN TO MAKE EM PAY

-

JOHN GOSDEN (right) has been out of luck in the Group 3 Jersey Stakes (5.35) since 2000.

However, the training great hasn’t gone into this seven-furlong contest with a stronger contender than

EMARAATY since. Hamdan Al Maktoum’s colt cost 2.6million guineas at the sales and he’s never going to repay that expense.

But he has shown some ability, notably when short-headed by today’s rival Society Power in a Goodwood handicap over the trip in May.

Emaraaty is 10lb better off this afternoon and looks the one to beat.

James Fanshawe has had his hand forced into running TRIBUTE ACT (3.40) in the Duke of Cambridge as his improving filly just missed the cut in the Hunt Cup.

The four-year-old was a steady improver all last season and became one of our horses to follow on the back of her close second here last time.

Obviously, she would have been more of a confident selection had she been in the handicap.

Tribute Act is less exposed than most, however, and can reward each-way interest. KEYSOR SOZE runs in the Hunt Cup (5.00) but isn’t ideally drawn in stall seven and Tom Queally will need to get him across to the near rail.

Even if he’s beaten today he remains one to keep on side. TODAY’S TIPS Royal Ascot 3.40 Tribute Act 5.00 Keyser Soze 5.35 Emaraaty Hamilton 2.10 Sense Of Belonging
