Trent Reznor reacted bullishly and crudely to a fan’s social media complaint that this final instalment of the trilogy – that also features EPs Not The Actual Events and Add Violence – is too short to be called an album. Not hard to hear why Trent was so dismissive – most albums became too long for their own good in the CD era and 30 minutes of Nine Inch Nails’ intensity being hammered into the cranium is akin to a sonic trepanning. But Bad Witch packs both splenetic power and variety.
