NHS staff in strike threat

THOUSANDS of NHS workers are threatening action over jobs being “sold out” to private firms.

Strike action will be taken at the Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Trust by members of the Unison and Unite unions.

Disputes in Gloucester and West Yorks are likely.

Unison’s Sara Gorton said: “Porters, cleaners and other staff chose to be part of the NHS team, not contracted out.”
