Kid TB jab to zap diabetes

DIABETES could be treated with the TB vaccine given to children at school, researchers found.

The BCG jab put blood sugar back to near normal levels in sufferers of type 1.

Experts hope it could also treat type 2, linked to the obesity crisis.

Dr Denise Faustman of Boston’s Massachusetts General Hospital said BCG made “permanent changes to the immune system”.
